A Minimoon Close to Home

We've had several clients tell us they are going to postpone their honeymoon for a year in order to apply a larger amount to their wedding and then save up again for the honeymoon - and we think it's a fabulous idea! They've mentioned exotic locations like Tuscany and Fiji and next year they are going to have the time of their lives there. In the meantime we suggested that they stay local and just take a minimoon right after the wedding. That way, they'll still get to be whisked away and they'll have a fun place to retreat to and come down from the wedding high. It's important to spend some quality time together to celebrate the fact that you two just became husband and wife. And no one wants to walk into work on Monday morning as if they didn't just have the biggest weekend of their lives. So a minimoon lets the good times and memories continue while being much lighter on the wallet. After all, a honeymoon is an experience of a lifetime just like a wedding is so it's worth waiting and saving for if it isn't feasible right away.

Here is our suggestion for a fabulous, chic, and relaxing getaway less than 3 hours from Los Angeles. Seriously you can't beat the luxury and sophistication that is The Viceroy.

It's always time for a Minimoon!

Planning your wedding can be stressful. And so can life. That's why it's ALWAYS the perfect time to take a minimoon. For those of you unfimiliar with the term, a minimoon is a small trip you take before your wedding and honeymoon just to get away for a bit. Having been married for almost three years, my husband and I still swear by the minimoon and we take them at every possible opportunity. They are just a great way to clear your heads, rekindle the romance, and spend a fun weekend together away from all the chaos and stress at home. Last weekend we went away with my sister and her boyfriend Matt for a Valentine's Day minimoon. We spent a lovely weekend at the Morro Bay Inn up near San Luis Obsipo. We definitely recommend checking it out. Inn At Morro Bay.  It's tucked away in a gorgeous State Park, right on the ocean. We even had sea otters swimming outside our room. Is there anything more adorable?! We had long relaxing lunches, picnics in Pismo Beach, and wine tastings in the beautiful vineyards of Edna Valley. Hearst Castle is also a fantastic local attraction. All in all,  it was a perfect getaway and we highly recommend the experience to anyone interested in spending a charming and very romantic weekend together...only a few hours outside of LA.

Here are some pictures from our trip. My sister the photographer, couldn't bare not bring her camera and shoot away.

A Great Place for Honeymooners

While on a fabulous vaca to Oahu, Hawaii last week I drove by a hotel that was absolutely gorgeous! I have a timeshare so I don't typically do any hotel research before I go. But if I was planning a Hawaiian honeymoon or just a romantic vacation I would definitely stay here! The hotel is called the Moana Surfrider and it is the oldest hotel in Oahu (since 1901). It is located directly on Waikiki Beach, amongst crystal blue waters, bright yellow umbrellas, and all the designer shops you could wish for - Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Louis, and more! There is also a great nightlife in the surrounding area for some fun after sunset. Best of all, there are fireworks on the beach every Friday night. What more could you ask for?!
