Congratulations Sofiya and Josh!

We had such a wonderful afternoon coordinating Sofiya and Josh's wedding at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu. They chose Chateau Le Dome for the site of their spectacular day and there just aren't enough words to describe how amazing their taste is! We had the pleasure of pairing them with Kim from Art with Nature for their breathtaking florals and wow she did an amazing job! Sofiya and Josh were a pleasure to work with and so was Josh's mom Cheryl. We had such a blast creating their Master Timeline over pizzas and wine at Stonehaus in Westlake Village and it was just always a great time spending time with them. They're simply awesome together and obviously madly in love. We couldn't be happier with how beautifully their day turned out and we love every little detail! It was such a special touch having Josh's father officiate their ceremony and we love that they incorporated dances from each of their respective cultures. Thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your day you two and we wish you the very very best. Congratulations Sofiya and Josh!!

Thank you to Cat from Next Exit Photography for these stunning photos! Thank you also to Sams By The Beach for the delicious meals and presentation, Pretty Vintage Table for these lovely rentals, and to DJ Tendaji for keeping the dance floor packed!

Congratulations Jessica and Brent

It was up to fabulous Carmel for Jessica and Brent's indescribable wedding weekend this past May. There just aren't enough words in the English language to sum up the incredible views, perfect sunset, and swoonworthy decor that all came together perfectly for Jessica and Brent. We met these two lovebirds back in 2012, when they were teatering between having a larger wedding locally or a smaller wedding at Jessica's uncle's estate in Carmel Valley. As they described her uncle's house and the unbelievable photo opps it would provide for their day, we had no choice but to say "run, don't walk to Carmel Valley and have the wedding day of your dreams there!" We're so glad they agreed and I think it's safe to say they did have the wedding day of their dreams.

Jessica is an accessories designer so it goes without saying that she has impeccable taste and an amazing attention to detail. She was SO much fun to plan and design with and I even had a blastwithJessica and Brent during a power wedding planning weekend in Carmel Valley in February. It was wonderful having an opportunity to get to know the family (some of the warmest, most wonderful people ever!) and to really get to bond with Jessica and Brent uduring our extended visit. I am honored, humbled, and ever so grateful to have been a part of this unforgettable day and I'm now so very pleased to be able to share these photos with you!

Congratulations Kristen and Kevin!

Oh what can we say about Kristen and Kevin.... how about we just call them the cutest couple ever?! Don't they just look like cake toppers? They're just so adorable next to each other and so blissfully in love. Let's start from the beginning. When I met Kristen and Kevin for our initial consultation, it was very much a family affair. Right from the start, they were accompanied by Kristen's wonderful parents Rosa and Don. As the introductions took place, Kristen pointed in her father's direction and said "this is George Banks." If you've seen the movie Father of the Bride you'll understand the reference. I certainly did because I've seen that movie about a million and a half times. Anyway, I completely understood what she meant  - he was the dad that envisioned a small wedding in their backyard with checkered tablecloths and him manning the bbq, flipping burgers and passing them out to their friends in sandals and Hawaiian shirts. Well, maybe the vision wasn't quite like that but you get the drift. Kristen and her mom Rosa had a VERY different idea in mind and Kevin (one of the most supportive grooms we've ever met) just wanted Kristen to have the wedding of her dreams. He obviously would have followed her to the moon. Well, sufficed to say I was hooked. They were just the nicest people and such a tight family so I knew from the start I wanted to be involved. Fortunately, I had the privelege of being their Coordinator and oh my gosh was it a blast!

Though Kristen and Kevin were originally talking about a Malibu Estate wedding with ocean views and sea air, I played a hunch and referred them to The Skirball Center. Surprising enough I was right and they booked right away. We planned together for about a year and every meeting was even more fun than the last. Kristen and Kevin really wanted their guests to have an experience. So they brought in an absolutely incredible 12 piece band (Rembrandt Band) who could sing anything from Stevie Wonder, to Beyonce, to The Black Eyed Peas. They also brought in cigar rollers which was definitely a highlight of the evening among their almost 300 guests. Kristen was also really into the little details that would make her guests feel special and appreciated. She and Rosa created the most thorough toilettries baskets we've ever seen for each of the restrooms and when the valet pulled up with their guests' cars at the end of the night, they were surprised to find bottles of water in their cupholders with a thank you message from Kristen and Kevin on the label.

Guests danced the night away and had THE BEST time. And even amongst all the fun and craziness Kristen and Kevin never missed an opportunity to get lost in a moment all their own, and stand together staring deep into each other's eyes as if they were the only two people in the room. Catching them in these moments was so wonderful to witness and they were captured fantastically by the incomparable Heidi Ryder Photography. I will miss Kristen, Kevin, Rosa, and George Banks SO much and I'm so grateful that they've promised to keep in touch. I will absolutely hold them to that! Thank you so much for the memories you two and congratulations on an unforgettable wedding! I wish you two all the happiness in the world!

Congratulations Natalia and Philip!

At long last, we finally get to blog this beautiful wedding. We met Natalia a whole 2 and a half year before her wedding. She was a dental student and she and her fiance Phil had relocated from Southern California to Arizona for her schooling. Her school schedule was pretty tight so she knew she had to plan a great deal in advance and that she wouldn't have a lot of time. Of course, we were thrilled to work with her and loved the challenge of an out-of-state bride with very little free time. We met Natalia and her amazing fiance Phil (along with her wonderful family) numerous times throughout the 2 1/2 years and every meeting was always a blast - no really, it was! We always had so much fun and Natalia and Phil have a lovely sense of humor. Our love of sarcasm was definitely shared and we cracked up at basically every meeting. After what seemed like forever, their wedding day finally arrived. It was a gorgeous day on the first of July and the weather and slight breeze at Maravilla Gardens in Camarillo couldn't have been more ideal. Natalia literally left me speechless when I saw her arrive in her dress and Phil was the incredibly handsome groom who looked perfect by her side. Their color scheme of eggplant, green, and pops of coral came to life beautifully at their garden venue. The food was delicious, the dance floor was packed all night (led mostly by Natalia) and very heartfelt speeches were delivered by the Maid of Honor (Natalia's sister) and the Best Man (Phil's best friend). As you'll see in the photos, Natalia's father was pretty choked up as he watched his oldest daughter marry (which was adorable) and Natalia and Phil couldn't wipe the HUGE smiles off their faces. It was an all-around beautiful day and we are so happy to have been a part of bringing it to life! We miss them dearly and wish we could do it all over again! But we are so happy for both of them because they truly deserve a long life of love and happiness together! Congratulations to Natalia and Phil!

Congratulations Andrea and Ken!

Over a year ago we received a contact request from a bride named Andrea A****. Her name looked very familiar to me but I didn't think too much of it. We corresponded back and forth via email and then decided to meet in person. We met at a cute little coffee shop in Burbank and I arrived first. Sitting there sipping on my cappucino, I perused my iPad while waiting for Andrea to arrive. Suddenly I looked up and there was Andrea, standing above me asking "Are you Whitney?" "Yes", I responded and immediately it clicked. Andrea and I went to high school together! She sat down and as our meeting progressed we spent half the time discussing her amazing wedding plans and the other half catching up on what we've been up to for the past 13 years. It was a wonderful meeting and Andrea signed as a new client right away.

Andrea (as you'll tell in a moment when you scroll down to the wedding photos) is an immensely talented woman. In her professional life she is a new lawyer but on the side she is an enormously talented designer and owner of an Etsy store, specializing in refinishing/repurposing antique furniture. It's no wonder that her (now) husband Ken is an artist because they both have an amazing eye for aesthetics. We loved all the little touches throughout the wedding, including the socks that Andrea gifted Ken with the label "In Case You Get Cold Feet", the programs which doubled as paper airplanes for the guests to throw at their recessional, the potted herbs which doubled as table names, the pink flamingos which lined the aisle of the ceremony, and the doughnuts which Andrea and Ken sent their guests home with as breakfast for the morning.

Our team had SUCH a wonderful time coordinating their wedding and bringing all the thoughtful, creative, and beautiful DIY elements to life and the transformation of the musuem on their wedding day was incredible. Andrea and Ken had a whimsical weddings with DIY touches galore, subtly inspired by Alice in Wonderful. We are so excited and proud to have been able to bring this wedding to life with them. It was a pleasure and a really fun walk down memory lane.

Congratulations to Andrea and Ken and a huge thank you to the amazing Sarah K Chen Photography. This day couldn't have been captured more perfectly Sarah!
